Looking at your notes for annotations on these work consider what you believe is a theme for the story—the story could have several themes you are to select one.

A. In the essay discuss how the author uses at least two of the following to support that theme:

B. Discuss the extent to which you think that the story is relevant to modern readers—what parallels in circumstances or situations do you think are pertinent.  Is this theme one that is universal and relevant to readers today?
